About Davelle Clothiers

A TRADITION OF PERSONAL STYLE
For more than 35 years, Davelle Clothiers has helped men dress with confidence through exceptional clothing, expert fit and highly personal service. What began as a small neckwear shop in Washington, D.C. has grown into one of Northern Virginia’s most established destinations for premium menswear and custom clothing. Along the way, Davelle has built its reputation one client at a time, combining the craftsmanship and service of a traditional clothier with a keen understanding of how modern men dress.
Founder David A. Eisele, Sr. brought a designer’s eye to the business from the beginning, eventually creating his own collections and earning the designation of Certified Master Designer from the Custom Tailors and Designers Association.
Today, he works alongside his son, Dave Jr., and Senior Wardrobe Consultant Tim Bumba to help clients build wardrobes that look exceptional and fit beautifully.
Some clients have been with Davelle for decades. Others are walking through the door for the first time. Every relationship begins the same way: by getting to know the man before choosing the clothes.
Our Team

David Eisele Sr.
David holds a degree from the Trend School of Design in Oregon and has been confirmed as a Certified Master Designer by the Custom Tailors and Designers Association (CTDA), the oldest fashion trade organization in America.
David began his career in the Washington D.C. area working for over twenty years in the jewelry business with Black, Star & Frost, and Bailey, Banks & Biddle, and as owner of Charles Schwartz & Son Jewelers.
Eager to establish his own enterprise, he opened Timeless Ties and More in 1991. He quickly developed an extensive client list and grew this business into what is now Davelle Clothiers. In 1995 he decided to apply his talents to the creation of his own signature line, and added a second label in 2003. David’s V Series and David’s Master Collection are still top selling brands for Davelle Clothiers to this day.
David enjoys working directly with clients, with many of them claiming him as their own personal clothier for five, ten, fifteen years or more. His dedication to his craft is the result of years of training as well as his personal commitment to constant improvement.
David A. Eisele, Sr. is the Official Designer for DC United, Major League Soccer, and has been chosen as a top DC designer by Washingtonian Magazine.

Dave Eisele
His philosophy has always been that the best way to learn about the art and business of style is through observation and experience. This translated into the attendance of trade shows, meeting with vendors and visiting manufacturers.
After 22 years with Davelle, Dave left to work at Nike world headquarters in Portland, Oregon accompanied by his wife, Erica. David Jr. quickly rose within the ranks to take on a coveted operations role. However, Davelle Clothiers was never far from his mind. Following the birth of his son, David knew it was time to get back to family and to his roots and returned home to work with his father, taking with him, the innovative and global business perspective he had acquired from working with a multinational corporation.
Father and son designed and built a brand-new store from the ground up, sparing no expense and currently work together as a team of buyer and co-buyer.
Eisele II has a certain approach as well as a mantra, “it’s all in the chef (tailor)” and he believes you must have a perfect combination of fabric and fit to exceed expectations. “I believe in building your confidence by compliments. The better you look, the better you feel with praise and flattery there is no limits to your potential!” Dave has a youthful coordinated approach to his style technique as well as a refined classic taste level based on work environment.

Tim Bumba
During my eight years with Davelle Clothiers, I have learned that it takes great discipline to achieve success in wardrobe design. If you ask my clients, they’ll tell you that I am slightly comical, yet amazingly effective when it comes to meeting their wardrobe needs.
I like to create a comfortable medium between their needs and the service I deliver. I don’t consider myself a sales person and don’t want you to, either. My approach is to cater to my customers with second to none service and form long term relationships based on trust.
I believe in ‘forever learning’. If I know it all, then I have lost my effectiveness.

David Eisele opens Timeless Ties in Washington, D.C.’s Union Station. The concept is simple: buy one tie, get two free. The store is an immediate success and begins building the loyal clientele that will follow David for decades. And while the business has come a long way since then, the Eisele family still has a weakness for artful neckwear.
The business moves to Reston Town Center, initially specializing in ties, white shirts and cufflinks.
Then customers begin asking David about something that isn’t on the racks: the suits he is wearing himself.
David starts designing suits for his clients, setting the business on an entirely new course.
The landlord offers David a larger, 1,248-square-foot space and the collection expands into tailored clothing.
Classic men’s suits are offered at $199 and designer Italian suits at $299.
They sell out the first weekend.
The store soon adds names including Calvin Klein and Giorgio Armani, along with David’s own designs under the Davelle label.
It is already a family business. Merchandise is regularly shipped to the Eisele home, where a young Dave Jr. helps price the new arrivals.
David introduces his first signature clothing line, putting his own design philosophy directly onto the sales floor.
A second collection follows in 2003. His V Series and Master Collection remain Davelle favorites today.
By this point, the Davelle name has become better known than Timeless Ties itself.
The company consolidates three locations into a 4,250-square-foot flagship in Reston Town Center and officially becomes Davelle Clothiers.
The store moves into its new space in September 2001, just three days before 9/11.
Through an extraordinarily difficult period for businesses across the Washington region, Davelle endures and continues building the relationships that will define its next chapter.
David earns his Certified Master Designer designation from the Custom Tailors and Designers Association, formal recognition of the expertise he had spent decades developing.
David serves as President of the Custom Tailors and Designers Association, the oldest fashion trade organization in America.
Davelle moves into its current Reston Town Center location.
At 2,667 square feet, the new store is smaller than its predecessor by design. The space reflects a more curated approach to luxury menswear, with every piece selected with a purpose.
The move proves that Davelle can do more business with a smaller footprint while giving clients an even more personal shopping experience.
This is also the year that David Sr. launched Satoriale by David, a collection designed by David himself, and made with the finest Italian fabrics available.
Davelle Clothiers celebrates its 35th anniversary.
What began with ties in Union Station is now a second generation family business with Dave serving as his father’s right-hand man and helping guide Davelle into its next chapter.
The labels have evolved. The store has evolved. The way men dress has certainly evolved.
The foundation has not.
Exceptional clothing. Expert tailoring. Personal relationships. And a family that still believes there is no substitute for knowing your clothier.
